College Days 11 – Coffee

Anyone who knows me knows that if there is a beverage out there I can’t stand to drink, it’s coffee. I tasted it when I was a child and I didn’t like the taste and that is never going to change. The week before Thanksgiving break I was stumped with homework. The only thing for me to do was stay up all night to get it done. Usually when I try to do that, it never works out but this past week was my breaking point and I decided I had to do just that. Before I never understood why college students would take Speed to do their work, but now I know why. The pressure of not failing can be really hard on a person. Tuesday night I tried to stay up and pull off an all-nighter but ended up going to sleep at four in the morning. People tell me to drink soda but I’ve drank that almost my whole life so the effects don’t really work on me. I’ve had a Monster before and did not bounce off the walls, so energy drinks were not going to help me. There was no other option. I had to do this. I drank coffee.
It is the most disgusting thing I’ve ever tasted. I don’t see how people can drink this everyday. Major eck from me. I woke up at seven on Wednesday to get to class and skipped Chapel to eat breakfast. I poured myself a cup of coffee and took ten minutes to muster up the ability to drink it. I’m not use to hot drinks so that is a contributing factor. I took a drink and my reaction was: Ewww it’s so gross! My second drink: How do people drink this everyday! I was told to put cream and sugar in it and it helped a little but it is not something I am going to get use to. So on Wednesday I had three cups of coffee and I did not go to sleep that night. I was a little loopy on Thursday morning when I went to my psychology class. It’s a good thing most of it was a lecture. The first forty minutes went by quick but the last five minutes were the longest five minutes of my life! I had two more cups of coffee that day because I did not plan on going to sleep that night either. After going to a wind symphony concert the plans were changed. I tried so hard not to fall asleep.
