Thank You Readers!

Yesterday my blog reached a milestone when it was being viewed by readers in Canada and the United Kingdom. It might not sound like it’s that big of a deal, but it is. I’ve had this blog for a year now and haven’t been able to do that yet. Since I started writing this blog I’ve always had this issue of not getting views or just getting very few. It’s a problem that all new bloggers get. Everywhere I look online I always see the same helpful hint that, “if you reach out to other bloggers then they’ll reach back.” I haven’t exactly done this but that may change soon.

I’ve also read that a way to get more views is to write often. I obviously haven’t written blog posts as much as I would have due to personal reasons. I also just don’t know what to write. I’ve been trying to find what it is that readers are looking for. For a time I realized that posting recipes would draw people to both read and follow my blog. But writing recipes for a post can be boring. After reading some wise words on another blog, I realized what to write about.

There’s a blog out there called Harsh Reality and I will admit that it can intimidate me. Laugh, it’s okay. The reason I find this blog intimidating is how often its author writes a blog post; which is like fifteen a day. What is there for me to talk about that much? I have trouble with just writing one post a week. This blog also gets so many views and followers, it’s crazy! I just try my best to keep up. This blog however has recently posted some very wise words. This blog stated that it doesn’t matter what I write. Meaning I don’t have to stick with one theme and I stated in the beginning that I wouldn’t. My thoughts can just be so random that there is no specific theme for all of them.

There are topics that I write about more than others. These would be my fandoms and I have specific pages for them. I’m just not going to worry about what will draw readers to my page because they’ll find it eventually. I will say this and I’m not surprised but Roman Reigns definitely brings me views. I wonder why, I write with a sarcastic tone. I just want to thank everyone who reads my blog and has followed it. Please continue what you are doing and I will do my best to write post on a set schedule.

  1. Reblogged this on HarsH ReaLiTy and commented:
Write what you want, when you want. The “right people” will find and read your blog with the right connections. I wish you well with “reaching out” to other bloggers, as you did with this post when you tagged it so I would see it. Well done. -OM
Note: Comments disabled here, please comment on their post.

  2. In this case, I agree with man who is opinionated, write what you want, when you want! I watched GH for years. Best of luck on your blog.

    1. Awe thank you so much. When I started writing my blog I noticed I had a bad habit of starting my blog with “So” and have been doing my best to stop ever since.

  3. Oh, yes, Libby! We bloggers have all experienced the anxiety of not getting the response we hoped for, the lack of comments–all that. But we persist. At least those of us who can’t not write. You are on the right track. You engage your reader, you write well, and if you can manage a once a week post, it will grow. Best of luck. And if nothing else, writing a blog can be great as Avoidance Behavior! PS. Is this your first comment from Australia?

    1. Oh gosh! Yes it is! Australia! It is one of my dreams to go there someday. Thank you so much for your comment and advice. I really enjoyed reading it. I hope you like reading my blog. There’s a first for everything and you are one!

  4. Thought I would say hello! I got here from OM’s reblog. I’ve been lucky enough to have him re-blog some of my posts and have gotten some new views, likes, and followers due to his generosity. You and I have been blogging a similar amount of time and have a similar number of followers at the moment. We also both have the word “Mind” in our titles and enjoy posting about multiple topics. Of course, there is the part about my being old enough to be your mother. 😉 Keep writing!

  5. Libby, you have said what a lot of us are thinking! You expressed it well. I, too, read Harsh Reality’s blog and don’t know how he does it. Blogging is hard…I think I wrote a post about it! But we do it because we love it. Kudos to everyone who keeps at it.

Give me a piece of your mind
