Amber Alert

The other day I got to hang out with an old friend. I’ve known him for more than ten years, ever since elementary school. We watched this movie yesterday on Netflix called “Amber Alert” and it was actually a really good movie. Now it’s one of those movies that are shot from a regular camera, like Cloverfield and Paranormal Activity.

The movie is good. It’s about these two friends, a guy and a girl, who are recording their last few days that they have to hang out together. They were on their way to this cliff to film themselves giving each other an interview when they find out that they are behind a car that is listed on an amber alert. The girl then is very adamant about following this car until the police show up. They follow this car for the remainder of the day and eventually rescue the young girl.

I laughed through most of this movie because of my friend’s mom. While we’re watching the first half of this film my friend’s mom goes, “that’s going to be you and Daniel someday. Two best friends riding around in a car.” My friend and I looked at each other then back at the screen. We watched a few more and then agreed. So for the remainder of the film we kept making jokes at each other about what the characters are doing. “How can you be such a jerk!” “Wow you’re determined to help this girl.” Then the guy said something in the movie that was just mean and I turn to my friend and started to playfully hit him about five times.

It was fun and at one point I turned to his mother and went, “look at what you started.” In all seriousness though, it was a good movie. It was amazing at how much effort they put into saving this little girl. At first it was just a joke to them that they were behind this car that could possibly be the suspect’s car. What it turned into was much more. I don’t want to give away to much because it is a movie worth watching.

  1. Sounds like it could be an interesting movie to watch. Will check it out and see if they have it. We don’t get the same selection in Netflix, as you do in the States..
