If You Like How to Train Your Dragon then…

Just within the past year I was introduced to the movie How to Train Your Dragon. I have to admit that it’s a pretty good movie. It had me on the edge of my seat with some of the scenes. Like the scene at the end when Hiccup gets out bed, I actually felt really bad for him. The entire movie was great, because it’s funny, there’s family matters, some seriousness, and just a hint of tragedy. When I heard there would be a sequel my main thought was, “I hope it doesn’t suck.” Usually when there are sequels to animated movies, they don’t live up to the potential of the first. Somehow though, the sequel of How to Train Your Dragon did live up to the same potential as the first. There wasn’t as much comedy in the second as there was in the first, but it’s understandable considering Hiccup isn’t a joke in his village anymore and the characters have grown up since the first movie. If you’re planning a movie night, the How to Train Your Dragon movies are worth watching. Critics have said that the sequel is better than Frozen and Brave, but I leave that for you to decide.

Since the first film has been made there is a television series and a game for How to Train Your Dragon. I’ve only watched a few episodes of the show, working on watching more, but I have played the game that is available on Facebook. The game is called School of Dragons and it’s an RPG. It is actually a fun and educational game. It uses the scientific method and touches on a few other subjects that even Vikings need to learn in order live. When you play your viking gets a dragon, completes quest, and trains its dragon’s flying and fire throwing ability. It features some video clips from the film and has added features from the tv series. Below is a video that someone, who is very special to me, has made and posted on Youtube of the game. It gives a sneak peek of the game and the commentary will give you a good laugh at certain points. This Youtube user has several other videos of the game that are also good, so check it out.
