After that first awkward date, things only got better for me and Blayne. I started asking my professors about him and my boss, who he once worked for. They all had nothing but good things to say about him. This helped me warm up to him. A month later we were an official couple, but not without certain stipulations.
One night he invited me to watch him play soccer then afterwards we went back to his place to watch some Bing Bang Theory. As we were sitting there, he asked if we could be official and at this point I wanted to, but there was an issue I had that might have prevented this. I explained to him that I might have to quit school because of a money issue I was having. I told him I wanted us to be official and that if I had to go home I could always take a bus to come visit him. He took the news well and assured me that he wasn’t going to change his mind. Coincidently this was the day before Thanksgiving break. I’m kinda making a habit of coming home for breaks with a new beau.
From that moment on I had a relationship with a good guy that moved faster than the last and was better than the ones before. Considering his age he lived by “I know what I want and when I want it.” He told me about why it didn’t work out with the other girls which helped me know what not to do around him. I have to admit that it made me a little stressed out, but only because I didn’t want to screw things up.
I let my emotions go instead of containing them like I did with my last boyfriend. I figured the reason why it didn’t work out between me and him was because I conserved myself so much. I didn’t want to lose this new fella so I was opened as I could be around Blayne. Things were looking good for us even though we knew there was going to be a distance between us soon.
